FCT Polls: APC Ward Chairman, Youth Leader, Excos Defects To PDP In Kuje.

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of Gwargwada ward, in Kuje Area Council, Danjuma Mohammed, alongside the party’s youth leader, two local government and some ward executives of the party have defected to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the area.

Among those that defected to the PDP were former supervisory councillor to the former chairman of the council on special duties, Abubakar Muhammad, APC youth leader of Gwargwada ward, Haruna Adagurusu, APC organising secretary, Usman Abubakar, Welfare, Zainab Sani, APC ex-officio Ismaila Danjuma and the APC local government financial secretary, Shuaibu Adamu.

Others that also defected included, APC Auditor, Mustapha Gajere, Assistant Auditor, Aliyu Musa, Ex -officio 4, Adamu Baba, financial secretary, Musa Adalchi, Assistant financial secretary, Abdullahi Katuru Sani, and 15 others.

Speaking on behalf of the decampees, the APC ward chairman of Gwargwada ward, Mohammed Danjuma, said he decided to lead other executives from the APC to the PDP because of absence of good governance has right of the federal down to local government level.

He said the APC ward executives also decided to pitch tent with the ruling PDP in the council under the leadership of Hon Abudllahi Suleiman Sabo, because of his achievements, saying the ruling PDP in the council has been able to touch the lives of residents of the council across board.

He also said residents of Kuje area council has felt the impact of leadership of Senator Philip Aduda, which he said has provided viable projects that has been impacting on the lives of the people of the rural communities across the council.

“Today, there is no community you will go that you will not see an ongoing projects, either roads, water, schools and health care center all these under the present PDP administration of Abdullahi Suleiman Sabo,” he said.

The chairman of the PDP in Kuje, Alhaji Ismaila Mohammed Yenche, who received the decampees, commended them for pitching tent with the PDP administrion in the area, saying they have taken a bold and right decision in joining the ruling PDP in the council.

He assured the defectors that the ruling PDP will treat equally like other bonafide members of the party, adding that they will also carry them in every affairs of the party.

Also speaking, the state PDP chairman, Hon Sunday Zaka, while presenting the party’s membership card to the decampees, also commend them for taking a bold step to defect to the PDP in the area.

He said he was overwhelmed with the defectors for taking courageous decision in pitching their tent with the ruling PDP in Kuje area council, saying they will never regret joining the PDP.

The PDP state chairman, therefore, assured them of equal rights and privilege, saying the ruling PDP was the only party that accommodate all.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the council, Abdullahi Suleiman Sabo, also lauded the defectors for their courage in defecting to the PDP in the area, describing it “as a bold move driven purely by principle rather than opportunistic motives.”

Sabo, while reacting to the defection in a statement by his senior special assistant on media and publicity, Nuhu Mohammed Waziri, the chairman, added that he was proud of the decampees for taking such a bold decision, which he said was in accordance with their conscience and principles rather than any external influence or coercion.

“And I am very confident that with men like Adamu Gajere, Gwargwada APC ward chairman, Hon Ohiko and among others who decamped to the ruling PDP today, I have foreseen a brighter future for our democracy because the voters will be more motivated by performance,’ the chairman said.
