Felele Explosion: Kogi Thrown Into Morning As A Result Of The Tragedy Which Claimed Several lives, Pledge To Avert Future Occurrence – KSG

Following last week tragedy which claimed several lives, Kogi State Government has promised to expedite actions towards preventing roads accident and it’s attendance consequences along Felele, Lokoja.

The State Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja stated this while condoling with the Felele community over the accident that led to explosion of trailer laden with petrol which claimed several lives.

Chief Onoja said the state has been thrown into morning as a result of the tragedy which claimed several lives.

He said such incidence have been occurring along the axis due to human errors and called for stiffer penalties against reckless driving.

Chief Onoja condoled with the families of the victims of the accident assuring that preventive measures such as citing a mini fire station and refixing damaged power source would immediately be provided.

He disclosed that Governor Bello is currently with the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola over the incidence stressing that positive steps would be taken to mitigate against future occurrence.

Similarly, a member representing Lokoja two constituency, Alhaji Idris Ndakwo, said, Felele Community is saddened by consistent accidents in the area.

He urged the Federal Government to grant the approval for the construction of bumps from the mega station to slow down the speed of vehicle.

Also speaking, the Corp Commander of the Sector Command of the FRSC in Kogi State, Mr Idris Fiki said the victims which have been taken to mortuary adding only a little child miraculously survive the inferno.

Also speaking, an eye witness who narrowly escaped the tragedy, Mrs Sule Zainab said the tragedy occurred when a petrol tanker lost control and hit vehicles in front of it.
