Commends Governor Wike For Championing Opposition Elements In Nigeria.

The former Governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris said opposition party’s in Nigeria had taken the lead in the development of the country, with the singular demonstration of Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike of PDP on the pace of success recorded.

Idris dropped this commendation in Port-harcourt on Saturday, 12th, March during the commissioning of the reconstructed and dualized Eastern bypass road in the Rivers State capital.

He said this was evident in the proliferation of developmental projects across Rivers State in the last six and half years, an indicator that Nigerians will be more prosperous with party’s not in power, compared to the ruling party.

He lauded Rivers State Governor for his untiring strides in the development of the state particularly on conception of projects and completion without delay.

“It is obvious that Rivers State in the last six and half years since 2015 under the leadership of the current PDP administration’s of Governor Nyesom Wike had witnessed proliferation of projects ranging from infrastructural, human, educational, and technological development that had improved the socio-economic lives of people in the state.”

He commended the governor over his idea of inviting past governors and party leaders for project commissioning, stating that the former governors forum will continue to support his transparent leadership.

“Also, the laudable idea on the invitation of former state governors, former leaders and top party notchers to commission projects in the state in the last six and half years, was an indicator that the present administration believes strongly in probity, transparency and accountability to the people, hence it’s decision to render stewardship through some party stalwart.”

“The PDP former Governors forum is solidly behind the record breaking leadership and achievements being witnessed in Rivers State under Governor Nyesom Wike.”

He expressed satisfaction with the level of development and progress in Rivers State spread across all areas by the Wike led administration.

” There is no doubt in my mind that the Wike led administration in Rivers State had changed the face of development from the previous conception stage to completion stage, which had restored the confidence of the people in leadership particularly in Rivers State, through provision of dividends of democracy under PDP .”

“The current administration has not only driven development of the state in all areas, but unearth the potentials of opposition party’s PDP, not only in Rivers State, but Nigeria at large, as the Governor remained the best all round performing Governor in Nigeria, not dependent on federal allocations, but rejigged internally generated revenue IGR.”

” The ongoing and completed Multi Billion Naira projects scattered all round the state ranging from construction and reconstruction of Roads, Building of flyover Bridges, Hospitals , Schools, Electricity, provision of Pipe borne water, and other social amenities, employment opportunities and prompt payment of monthly salaries to state workers stand out the current administration in the state.”

Idris urged Wike to sustain the tempo and continue the trend of progress in the state, appealing to the people to have faith in the current dispensation in the state, stating that the ongoing clamour for fiscal federalism championed by the governor is a right step in the right direction.

” I have no doubt in my mind that the growing clamour championed by Governor Nyesom Wike for appropriate fiscal federalism, new revenue allocation formula and collection of Value Added Tax VAT by states, though, subject to judicial adjudication, when resolve will give more financial muscle to states to do more in the area of development and service to the people.”

” I’m highly elated to identify with the success being recorded by Rivers State Governor, His Excellency Nzewom Nyesom Wike on the PDP platform and my intention to continue to support him with prayers and well wishes to continue in this trend between now and 2023.”
