Gomo Babye death: Chief Imam of Toto Central Mosque calls on Muslims to be guided religiously as to avoid punishment of Allah

The Chief Imam of Toto central Mosque, Mallam Mohammed Umar, has admonished Muslims to live life worthy of emulations to avoid punishment of Allah.

He made the call during the three day firdau prayer of Late Gomo Babye, Alhaji Aliyu Baba Daudu, held at his palace in Gadabuke Toto Local government area of Nasarawa State, on Thursday.

Global Times Nigeria had on Monday this week reports that Gade community of Gadabuke development area was thrown into mournful mood over the passing on of their first class traditional ruler, Gomo Babye, Alhaji Aliyu Baba Daudu.

Leading the three day prayer, the Chief Imam of Toto Central Mosque, Mohammed Umar, alongside other clerics, enjoined Muslims to see the death of the traditional ruler as an act of God, advising them to continue praying for the repose of his soul.

Emir of Lafia and chairman, Nasarawa state traditional council of chiefs, Sidi Bage Mohammed, who spoke through the emir of Nasarawa Ibrahim Usman Jibrin, described the late monarch as a friend to all irrespective of differences, urging people to always be ready as dead can come calling anytime, Saying that the Nasarawa state traditional council will miss his contributions.

The Ohimegye Opanda, Alhaji Usman Abdullahi disclosed that Aliyu Baba Daudu fought for the unity of Gade and other tribes, saying the loss is not only for the Gade people but the entire state.

Earlier, Chairman, Toto Local government area, Hon Aliyu Abdullahi Tashas, said the vacuum created as a result of the death of their long serving traditional ruler would be difficult to fill considering his leadership style while alive.

The Gomo Babye, Alhaji Baba Daudu died on Monday, 25 July, 2023 at the Federal Medical Centre Keffi as a result of prolonged illness, and left behind three Wives, Children and many relations.
