Just few days ago a Nigeria Army Captain GSM Abubakar was killed, while his wife and mother were kidnapped by suspected bandits, another dare devil gunmen again on Thursday killed a Navy officer and a woman in camouflage along the Lokoja-Okene Expressway in Kogi State.
It was gathered that the incident occurred at about 6:00pm along the same highway Lokoja — Okene where suspected bandits killed the Nigerian Army officer, GSM Abubakar.
Abubakar, a captain attached to the 353 Artillery Regiment, Ojo, Lagos, was said to be travelling from Lagos to the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, in company of his wife and mother to participate in this year’s junior officers course when bandits opened fire on them, killing the soldier instantly.
Soldiers from the Army Command Records Lokoja and men of the Special Anti Robbery Squad have been mobilised to comb the bush between Lokoja and Okene to rescue the Kidnapped wife and the mother of the late Army Officer as well as arrest the bandits.
