A grassroots politician in Imo State, Honourable Sam Otuibe has awarded 250 scholarship grants to students in his constituent as part of an effort to fulfill his campaign promises to his peoples and beneficiaries drawn from various communities.
The lawmaker who hails from the Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area of the state has begun the process of selection of the eventual awardees.
Global Times Nigeria Correspondent report that the selection process includes an SSCE pre-qualification examination is simultaneously taking place at Amuzi central school, Ogwuama central school, Central school Ogbe, Obodo Ahiara Secondary school, and other centers to select the eventual awardees. The conclusion of the pre-qualification examination will be held by the 11th of December.
The lawmaker promised transparency in the selection processes and said he will personally monitor the conduct at various centers to ensure credibility in the selection process and has vowed to make sure only deserving constituents get selected.
The lawmaker in a statement said gesture aims to give back to his constituents and to strengthen education in Ahiazu Mbaise area of the State”.
Some members of the constituent have lauded the lawmaker initiative and assured him of their support and cooperation to enable him to succeed and do more for his people.
