Isanlu Robbery: Former Ijumu LG Boss Denies Linkage

The immediate past Administrator of Ijumu Local government council, Alhaji Taofiq Isa, has debunked the rumour making the round that he was arrested in connection to the Ijumu robbery currently being investigated by the police.

In a press statement he personally signed, the former Administrator said ” It was just brought to my notice on an ongoing rumour by one Adejoh Hamza that I was arrested by the Nigerian Police Force Headquarters in connection with the deadly Isanlu robbery attack some weeks back.

“I want to state categorically that I was not arrested and I did not supply arms and ammunition to any one or group”.

Alhaji Taofiq stated that the Nigerian police force in collaboration with the Kogi State government is working tirelessly to apprehend the suspects, and that no amount of blackmailing will withdraw the strength of the government and police force from fishing out the criminals.

Taofiq, who is a Chairmanship aspirant for the forthcoming local government councils election, urged his supporters, well wishers and the general public to remain calm,disregard such rumours as it is an imaginary and calculated thinking of mischief
makers who are hell bent in bringing him down.

While insisting that the allegations are totally untrue, he lambasted the writer as a pathological liar who is an enemy of Okunland.

According to the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security, already the Executive Governor of Kogi State has given them the (SSAs) a directive to collaborate with security agencies to fish out the perpetrators of the dastardly act at Isanlu

He said that as Senior Special Assistant on Security, it is incumbent on him to work in synergy with the security agencies to ensure that all the culprits are apprehended.
