Islamic Clerics in Kogi pray for late Wife of NUJ Chairman.

Following the death of the wife of Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists Kogi state Council, Amirat Zainab MomohJimoh, the 3rd prayers were offered for the repose of the soul of the deceased.

Scores of Islamic Clerics led by the Kogi Government House Imam, Ustaz Bashir Ohu and several sympathisers and mourners converged on the residence of Comrade Adeiza Momohjimoh along Mount Pati road Lokoja for the special prayers.

In a sermon delivered before the commencement of the prayers, Sheikh Abubakar Abdullahi Yusuf, admonished Muslims to adhere strictly to the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Hadith, as decreed by God and bequeathed by Prophet Muhammad.

Sheikh Yusuf said for the Muslim to gain favour of God and gain entry into Paradise, must adhere strictly to cardinal principles of the Islam, which include, Faith ( believe in God and the Prophet Muhammad as His messenger), Five daily prayers, payment of Zakat, observing feasting during the month of Ramadan and performance of pilgrimage if able.

The Cleric extolled the virtues of Prophet Muhammad,which taught adherents of Islamic religion to be tolerant with all people including worshipers of other religions.

He urged all Muslims to be advocates of peace and ensure cordial relationship with all people as practiced and propagated the Prophet Muhammad.

While praying for the repose of the soul of the late Hajiya Zainab, Sheikh Yusuf urged the immediate family and others especially her students to emulate her good deeds which have been testified to by neighbours, friends and associates.

The Government House Imam Ustaz Bashir Ohu, the led the special prayer session, said that with the manner the late Zainab died, there is hope that the almighty God will grant Paradise (Aljanah).

He urged Muslims to pray and continue to be their brothers keepers without engaging in activities that will derail them from the path of God, like making enemies or malaise against neighbours and any other persons despite religious,ethnic and social differences.

The Chairman, Kogi state Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Adeiza Momohjph lost his wife Amirat Zainab on Friday last at an Abuja Specialist hospital after a protracted illness.

She has been buried on Friday in accordance with Islamic rites.

Meanwhile, condolences by sympathisers from across the country have been pouring in to the family and the NUJ.
