A women group, under the aegis of Jagbadnapa Women Association has conferred an achievements award to the chairman of Kwali Area council, Hon Danladi Chiya.
The group also conferred “Impact” and “Excellence” awards to the chairmen of Bwari Area Council, Hon John Gabaya and chairman of Kuje Area Council, Hon Abdullahi Suleiman Sabo.

Speaking at the reception held in Kwali on Sunday, the chairperson of the group, Aisha Yamta Bukar, said the awards to the council chairmen was premised on their performance in their various area councils.
She stated the council of Kwali has performed creditably well in the area of infrastructural development such as roads and water projects, which she said has been impacting on the lives of the residents of the area.
“Mr chairman sir, you are a star who rises to the top by chance but through purpose and passion to crown it all, he is a leader that lead with brilliancy, which prompted we the women group to confer you and two of your colleagues with an award today,” she said.
Bukar, however, used the occasion to request the council chairman to consider in providing employment widows and orphans in the area.
According to her, there are substantial numbers of widows and orphans across the council that have graduated without a job, saying there was the need for the council to assist in giving some of the employment.
She also said there are some natives of the area who are NCE holders without a job, and appealed to the chairman to also consider them.
“Besides, every women seated is a potential widow while every father seated here has potential orphans in his house, let’s not neglect them as death is inevitable,” she said.
She, however, said the women group decided to confer the award on the chairman because of his performance in the area infrastructures and human development in the area.
The council chairman, Chiya Danladi, while receiving the award, appreciated the group for finding him worthy for the award, saying the award will enhance him to do more for his people.
Global Times Nigeria report that the council chairman, later commissioned newly constructed and completed asphalt road in the area, which he named it before a former national commissioner for National Population Commission (NPC) Dr Daniel Aliyu Baka.
In a similar development, In addition, the women group also launched a campaign re- election cap for the Council Chairman tagged ” Jagba 3+3 -Bayani, which the council chairman and his Gwagwalada counterpart, Hon Adamu Mustapha later launched at N50,000 each.
