Kebbi Deputy Governor Lauds Gov Bagudu On Support For Women Empowerment.
The commendation was given at the second phase step down training for ward facilitators from Maiyama, Argungu and Ngaski local Government Areas presided by His Excellency, Rtd Col Sama’ila Yombe Dabai mni, fss, psc+, MBA, Ph.D the Deputy Governor of Kebbi state in Birnin Kebbi and Kamba respectively.
A statement by Atom Turba, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) On New Media To The Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, said the training was aimed to speed up and level with Ogun state to maintain the leading state as well as drivers of Nigeria for women project in the country.
The Deputy Governor who doubles as the state chairman, Steering and Technical Committee of the project, disclosed that Empowerment and Education of women is as important as addition of value to Nation building, reiterated Kebbi State Government’s support in attaining the target objective.
The permeant secretary, Ministry of Women and Social Development, Hajiya A’ishatu Muhammad Maikurata in her remarks revealed that the state government has appropriated funds meant for women empowerment across the state, urged participants to concentrate on the programme as it would improve the learning standard of women at the end of the excerise.
Other speakers at the training included the state coordinator of the project, Alh Yakubu Muhammad Yauri, Vice chairman of Maiyama Local government, Alh Aliyu Libba and State Technical Assistant Mr Luther Orker commended the leadership of the project while calling on the State Government to do more in the aspect.
Highlight of the occasion was official declaration of the training by Kebbi state Deputy Governor, Dr Sama’ila Yombe Dabai.
