Kebbi State Govt. Reiterates It’s Commitment In The Protection Of Lives And Properties Of It’s Citizens
The Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, Rtd Col Sama’ila Yombe Dabai mni, fss, psc+, MBA, PhD on Friday, led a high power state government delegation to Zuru Emirate on rapid response and assessment visit following banditry attacks in some communities of Danko/Wasagu local government area of the state.

Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on New Media To The Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, said the delegation which consist of Ag Head of Service, Alh Suffiyanu Garba Bena, Special Adviser to the governor on security, Maj Rabiu Umar Kamba Rtd, Deputy Director Security Cabinet Office, Alh Abdulrahaman Usman earlier visited his royal higness, Maj Gen Dr Muhammadu Sani Sami, the Emir of Zuru to condole with him over the incidence.
While receiving the delegation, the Emir of Zuru commended governor Bagudu’s effort on security challenges and sought for more and no mercy approach towards addressing the menace. He used the medium to call for revisiting the recommendations previously made with regards to security challenges in Zuru Emirate.
Similarly, the delegation visited 223 Light Tank Dakkarawa Barracks Zuru to condole with the families of the deceased soldiers died in action on Wednesday. In his condolence message on behalf of the state government, the Deputy Governor described death as invevitable, urged the families to take heart and bear with the situation and prayed for the repose of their souls.
The Special Adviser to the governor on security, Maj Rabiu Umar Kamba through the Deputy Governor, who on behalf of the state government, presented cash to the families of the deceased soldiers.
The Deputy Governor in an interactive session with officers, encouraged them to endure and stand firm to protect their father’s land.
In a related development, the delegation were at the palace of district head of Kanya where they interacted with local vigilante group known as Yansakai who were on mission to some communities in the fight against bandits that storm the area.
Sama’ila Yombe Dabai commended the effort of the vigilante and insisted that on no account should marital, royalty, debt and civil related matters form part of their activities.
Similarly, Maliki, one of vigilante leader, who sustained injury from gunshot during the battle with bandits was visited in his house, Kangon Wasagu, cash support was offered to him.
The Delegation further visited chief of Wasagu, Alh Musa Muhammed in his palace to condole with the people of Wasagu chiefdom over the loss of several lives to banditry attacks, discussed a lot of issues towards addressing the menace. Moreover, the delegation condoled with the families of late Haliru Abubakar who was killed by the bandits last week.
The delegation also made a stop over at general hospital Ribah to asses condition of the victims that sustained injuries during the attack.
People that accompanied the delegation include representative of C/O 223 light Tank Dakkarawa Barracks Zuru, The Area Commander, Nigeria Police Force, Zuru Area command, Divisional Police officers, representative of OC Mobile, DSS, Civil Defence, vigilante group.
Others are Alh Kabiru Yakaji (Magayakin Zuru), Alh Abiola, Ag. APC Chair Zuru local government, Alh Haliru Wasagu, Vice chairman, Danko/Wasagu local government among many others.
