Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule has constituted 16 commissioners as members of the state executive council who will help him achieved set goals and as well fulfilled his campaigns promised made during electioneering process.

Global Times Nigeria correspondent report that the swearing came after being screened and confirmed by members of the Nassarawa State House of Assembly, and the event held inside the Aliyu Akwe Doma Banquet Hall Government House Lafia.

The governor in his remark urged the newly sworn in commissioners to shun corrupt tendencies and key into his administration’s vision of transparency, Accountability and rule of law.

The Governor announced Hon. Yakubu Kwanta as Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, From Akwanga LGA, Aishatu Rufai- Commissioner for Women Affairs from Awe LGA, Umar Abubakar Dan’akano, Commissioner for Agriculture, Awe LGA, Munirat Abdullahi –Commissioner for Finance from Doma, LGA, Timothy Kasuwa as Commissioner for Special Duties on Security and Public Matters, Karu LGA, Ja’afaru Ango- Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Karu LGA, Margaret Elayo as Commissioner for Special Duties on Humanitarian Services and NGOs, Keana LGA, Bala Mulki- Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development – Keffi LGA and John D W Mamman as Commissioner for Education from Kokona LGA.

“Others are Abubakar Imam Zanwa as Commissioner for Water Resources and Rural Development Lafia LGA, Mr Samuel Kafu Emgba as Commissioner for Science and Technology Lafia LGA, Aliyu Ahmed Tijjani as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Nasarawa LGA, Muhammed Iyimoga as Commissioner for Trade and Investment Obi LGA, Barr. Labaran Magaji Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the State fromToto LGA, Dr. Gaza Gwamna as Commissioner for Health- Toto LGA, Mu’azu Gosho as Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport Wamba LGA”.

Sule urged the new commissioners to justify the confidence Government reposed in them.

” I want to congratulate you on your well deserved appointments as we have made wider consultations in the selection of Commissioners across the state

” I want to implore you to key into my administration’s vision of transparency and accountability and you are to shun corrupt tendencies

” I also urge you to be dedicated and hard work as this administration cherishes hard work, commitment and loyalty,” he said

Sule further assured of his administration’s continuous determination to key into good policies and programmes that would have direct bearing on the lives of the people of the state.

Governor Abdullahi Sule specifically commended the Speaker Rt.Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi and his members for speedy screening and confirmation of the commissioners.

Besides, the Governor announced that the state government would distribute the palliatives it received from the Federal Government this week in order to alleviate the suffering the people are facing as a result of effects of subsidy removal in the country.

Earlier, Barr Muhammad Aliyu Ubandoma, the Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State, has appreciated Gov. Sule for providing good governance and the much needed dividends of democracy to the people of the state

The SSG said that the new commissioners were screened and confirmed by the members of the State House of Assembly and were cleared by the security.

” Nasarawa State has never had it so good like now because of his Excellency good policies and programmes, ” he said

It would be recalled that on July 28, 2023 Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has submitted a list of 17 commissioner nominees to the State House of Assembly for screening and possible confirmation as members of the state executive council.

It would also be recalled that on August 1st, 2023, the House screened and confirmed 16 out of the 17 commissioner nominees sent to the House by Gov. Sule for confirmation.

Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, the Speaker of the House said that a commissioner nominee, Haruna Musa from Nassarawa Eggon LGA did not appeared for the screening, saying that he was indisposed at the moment.
