Kidnapppers Abduct Female Teacher In Abuja, Demand N10m Ransom

Kidnappers have abducted a female teacher with the Government Secondary School (GSS), Kuje Abuja, Mrs Daramola Onyeaka Matina.

A family member of the victim, who preferred anonymity, said the incident happened in the early hours of Tuesday, when the kidnappers armed to teeth invaded the victims private residence at Shadadi community in the area.

He said the kidnappers, who invaded the house at about 12:34 am, forced the victims back door opened, after other gangs positioned themselves at strategic locations.

“When they came through the back door and used a sledged harmer and axe to destroyed the door, while others stood outside and surrounded the house and later whisked away at gun point,” he said.

He said the family has been able to established contact with her abductors and were demanding for N10 million ransom before she will be set free.

“Actually, a contact was established with her abductors late evening of Tuesday, and they were demanding for N10 million ransom, even though, negotiation is still ongoing,” he said

The Kuje branch secretary of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Comrade Shamaki Nathan Magaji, confirmed the abduction of the female teacher through telephone interview with our reporter.

He said the branch has written to the state union about the kidnap incident.

The spokesperson of the FCT police command, ASP Maryam Yusuf, asked our reporter to send her text, in which she was yet to reply the message to confirm the kidnap incident as at the time of filling the report.
