Kogi Election: Dr. Ogbo Usman is winning for APC at grassroots level, receive more defectors in Ankpa LG

Barely than 10 days to the Kogi State Governorship election slated for November 11th, more notable groups from various political parties have dumped their parties to join the All Progressives Congress, APC, to ensure victory. Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman was on ground canvassing and receiving new entrance into the governing party with sole intention to win the upcoming election in landslide in the area.

Dr Usman who is also the Director Research and Planning for APC said chances of victory for the ruling party has increased after a successful meeting with 9 Support groups in Ankpa township ward of the Ankpa Local Government

He said the purpose was aimed at ensuring a resounding victory for the candidature of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo and Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu.

Global Times Correspondent report that the strategy meeting held on Sunday 29th October, 2023 at separate venues all in Ankpa township Ward.

Those in attendance were critical stakeholders and other party stalwarts drawn from various Polling Units of Ankpa township ward include Women and Youths of Oguche–kpo Street, Elder Focus Club.

The women and youths of Oguche–kpo Street; the maternal home of Dr. Usman reaffirmed their total readiness and commitment to support the APC candidates just as they commended Dr. Usman’ efforts in giving back to his immediate community.

The Gago of Oguche–kpo Street, Mallam Jibril Musa said, the rationale behind their unanimous decision to support the APC candidate is due to Dr. Usman’s unmatched records of employing graduates from across the streets in Ankpa Local Government just as he expressed optimism that more dividend of democracy will be enjoyed when Alhaji Ododo assumed office by January 2024.

Elder Focus Club, Ankpa, a renowned apolitical forum in Ankpa township Ward also pledged to galvanized supports within and outside the forum for the APC candidate because of Dr. Usman’s achievements in lifting the son of nobody to become somebody through the provision of employment opportunities to worthy sons and daughters of the community.

The chairman of Elder Focus Club, Mallam Alilo Hamidu emphatically said, “We are going to talk to our people and galvanized supports for APC candidates in Ankpa township because of Dr. Usman who has shown that the APC is truly the party that will bring more dividends of democracy to us in Ankpa,” he affirmed.

The nine Support Groups in Angwa Ogebe promised to ensure APC emerge victorious in the next month’s election.

In another development, scores of members of the Social Democratic Party, SDP in Ankpa Township Ward defected to the ruling APC after due consultation with the Dr. Usman Ogbo and have reassured him of their total readiness to help the party win the Guber Poll.

Leader of the defecting members, Mallam Ishaku Baba Ometu who spoke on behalf of other defectors enjoined every sons and daughters of Angwa Ogebe community to mobilise and support for the APC candidate, which he said has given due recognition to youths and women in Kogi State.

“It would amount to an abomination if I support another party outside Dr. Usman’s interest because of his unprecedented achievements and philanthropist gesture in Angwa Community,” he added.

Speaking at the various meetings, Dr. Usman appreciated all the support groups for their unanimous decision to support the APC candidates just as he reiterated that Ankpa Township would witness more positive transformation in the forthcoming government of Alhaji Ododo as a result of the achievable development templates that have been laid down by His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.

He charged the new entrants to work assiduously towards ensuring APC succeed at the November poll just as he reiterated his commitment to serving Ankpa communities.

Dr. Usman expressed optimism that Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman who has been groomed by His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello will consolidated and also entrenched the government that would have more youths and women.

He called on the electorates to make their votes count by adopting the APC which he said has proven to have the overall interest of the masses at heart.
