Kogi Guber: APC embarks on unit to unit campaigns in Kogi LGA.

With the Kogi state Governorship election fast approaching, the All Progressives Congress APC, Kogi local government area, on Thursday embarked on “unit to unit” campaigns.
The South East ward branch of the party has set up a special committee to launch the innovative style of issues based campaigns at polling unit level, led by Barrister Muhammed Tanko Musa Osuku, to interface with the people directly.
Other members of the committee include the LGA Director General of Ododo/Joel campaign council, Alhaji Muhammed Shuaibu Asio, the APC local government Chairman, Hon. Abubakar Onah, Barr. Tanko Abdulrahman Ndakwo Ozi, the South East ward Chairman, Hon. Hamza Yunusa Abubakar Ozi among others.
The team which swung into action immediately, followed the people to the 16 polling units that made up the Koton karfe South East ward.
The first port of call was a Gwari settlement called Lakwo, to Osuku, Onzo, Okpareke, Ozi and Akpogu villages where the polling units are located.
The Committee was warmly received with pump and pageantry in all the polling units mostly at Primary schools premises, as the danced and sang Ododo praises and solidarity.
After the welcome ceremony, the leader of the team Barr. Osuku and entourage, paid courtesy visits on the traditional rulers and village Chiefs
Addressing party supporters at the venues of the campaigns, the Ododo campaigners discussed several issues with the villagers ranging from achievements of Governor Yahaya Bello to employment, empowerment and agricultural imputes
The party loyalists from the ward both collectively or individually express gratitude to the Governor, over the connection of their communities to the national grid of electricity.
They also commended Governor Yahaya Bello for appointing and upgrading of traditional rulers to various grades. It has been a major worry for the residents and have been struggling for such since decades ago.
Responding to the several complaints, the Chairman of the Committee, Barr Muhammed Tanko Musa Osuku, while thanking them for their loyalty and unflinching support for the present administration, assured that if they vote APC and its candidate Ahmed Usman Ododo, more dividends of democracy will come to their door steps.
In his remarks, Director General of the Ododo campaign Council, Alhaji Muhammed Shuaibu Asio, advised the voters to shun other political parties because they have nothing to offer.
The Local Government APC Chairman, Hon Abubakar Onah, thanked the people for their continues support for APC and the candidate Ahmed Usman Ododo and his running mate Joel Oyibo Salifu.
Former Social Democratic Party (SDP) Senatorial candidate for Kogi West District, Barr Abdulrahman Tanko Ndakwo Ozi, who dumped the party he cofounded for APC, while acknowledging the performances of the Governor, expressed optimism that Ododo will win the election.
Barr Ndakwo, a former state House of Assembly who presented Kogi/Koton-karfe state constituency said that Ododo’s victory is victory for all, especially the people of Kogi local government area, urged them to redouble their efforts and reengineer the campaign machines for a landslide victory.
