Ahead of November 11 governorship election in Kogi State, the Kogi Local Government chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has received more members of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Social Democratic Party (SDP) into their fold at Ozi (Senseyi) community in Koton-karfe south east electoral ward of the council.Across section of women who decamped from PDP, SDP to APC in Koton-Karfe South East ward of Kogi LG

The decampees who hail from Okasemiya community converged at Ozi where they were officially received into the ruling party on Sunday with a pledged to ensure total victory for the APC.

In a welcome address, the APC Chairman, Hon Ibrahim Onah commended for members of opposition parties for aligning with ruling APC. He said APC remains the fold to beat in the November 11 election.

While welcoming them to APC Onah noted that the party will carried them along in scheme of things.

Speaking, Executive Chairman Kogi State Civil Service Commission, Hon (Barr) Muhammed Tanko Osuku declared opposition dead in Kogi LG, wonder why some elements are still deceiving themselves in the name politicking.

Tanko a former administrator of Kogi LG and one time Senior Special Assistant, SSA, to Governor Yahaya Bello said with the massive achievements of present administration in Kogi LG ranging from security, electricity, and healthcare facility APC will not only retain its position but will rather sent them packing.

The legal luminary commended APC leadership and charged them to remain united as one of key point to attract victory and success.

According to him, Governor Yahaya Bello remained the solid rock and was instrumental to all the good things taking place in Kogi LG and beyond, hence to sustain their support to gain more.

On his part, former lawmaker who represented Kogi/Koton-karfe state constituency, Hon Abdulrahman Ndako Tanko described SDP as a dead horse, adding that opposition won’t win any election in Kogi State.

The legal luminary expressed gratitude to Gov Yahaya Bello led administration for considering his people in Kogi.

He advised opposition remnants not to waste their time as the people have made up their minds to support ruling APC in the area.

Other speakers who spoke at the event were Hon Muhammed Asio, Alhaji Yusuf Abdullahi Ohikwura, Hon Aliyu Dauda, Kogi State APC Vice Chairman, former Kogi LG PDP Chairman, former PDP State PRO and others stalwarts assured the party of their support ahead of November 11 election.

The party stalwarts vowed to campaign vigorously from unit, ward and to LG level with sole aim of achieving success in the forthcoming.

A former lawmaker and Commissioner, Hon Saidu Salihu Akawu (SAS) said he was overwhelmed with the political arrangement in Kogi LG, he said the party will win the upcoming gubernatorial election considering the programs and policies of present administration in the State.

The former Commissioner who is fondly called SAS assured the defectors of equal treatment.

He welcomed them to the party and charged them to work hard to ensure APC victory at the poll.

In his remark, the State Commissioner for Solid Mineral and Natural Resources, Engineer Mohammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu acknowledge the massive support APC enjoyed over the years, noting that such gesture won’t be vain.

Global Times Nigeria reports that the former PDP and SDP members who dumped their parties, said they left former former parties to queuing behind APC in view of present administration legacy projects under the leadership of Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello.

The leader of decampees, Dangara Ohimozi Okasemiya, Elder Monoh said praised the inclusive leadership style of Governor Yahaya Bello and Engineer Mohammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu, which he said informed their decision to joined the ruling party as to contribute their own quota to the development of the area.

The event had in attendance, Hon Abdullahi Idowu Suleiman, SSA, on Data collation, Hon Ridwan Bala Ette, SSA on Special Duties, Hon Badakoshi, SSA LG & Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Yusuf Adamu Ohimoko, SSA on Internal Revenue to Kogi State Governor, party stalwarts and supporters across the three district of Kogi LG were there in solidarity with party.

The occasion equally witnessed presentation of APC flag and brooms to the new comers.
