Kogi Poll: Prominent Politician Yahaya Ododo formally dumps party, joins AA guber Candidate, Olayinka Braimoh
As kogi State governorship election draw closer political actors and prominent stakeholders have started alignment and realignment, all in an efforts install a new leader that will cater for their needs in the next four years.
Among those politicians that has summon courage is a Former Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ankpa Local Government Area, Hon. Yahaya Ododo, Saturday left his party for Action Alliance (AA).
Ododo said his action aim at ensuring Kogi people respective of religion and tribe get the most desired governance and leadership as enshrine in the constitution.
According to him, equity, fairness and justice should prevail or characterized leadership in the State.
There had been reports of Action Alliance and it’s governorship candidate, Otunba Olayinka Braimoh receive receiving detectors from Various Parties APC PDP and SDP
The most recent one held in Ojoku Ward where Hon. Samuel Omale and thousands of teaming supporters joined Braimoh to build a new Kogi State.
Speaking on Hon. Yahaya Ododo and thousands of teeming supporters from Ankpa Forum of Political Unity who do not only joined AA and pledged to mobilized massively for the of Mr. Otunba Olayinka Braimoh.
It is no longer news as prominent members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, have denounced their membership of their former party to support AA and it’s guber candidate to rescue Kogi State from decaying infrastructure, administration and insecurity among others.
The entrance noted that Braimoh’s commitment to unite Kogites, wealth creation programme and provide good governance informed that decision to join his quest.
Speaking at a defection ceremony that attracted thousands of teeming supporters, a former PDP Chieftain and retired Military officer, Hon Yahaya Ododo described sailor of present administration as a monumental failure who got to Lugard House by accident. While buttressing hi point, the retired Military officer cum politician said the time has come for Kogi West to unite and work as a team to produce the next Governor of the State.
Ododo said the Governorship Candidates of Action Alliance, Otunba Braimoh as most qualified and competent ideal with a rich manifesto that can lift the State out of poverty that has ravaged Kogi over the years.
In his words, “I have been in the Politics of Kogi State for long, I have worked for Former Minister for Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Chief Bayo Ojo, former Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Chief Olushola Akanmode and we are ready to work for you.”
In a remark, former PDP stalwartsl and now AA member from Ojoku Ward, Hon. Samuel Omale, urged new entrance to move to nooks and crannies of their various units, wards and Local Government Areas to canvass support for Otunba Olayinka Braimoh and his running mate, Alh. Yahaya Tijani Imam.
On his part, the hopeful. Governorship Candidate, Otunba Olayinka Braimoh said he was impressed with the reception accorded him and his team. Braimoh stated that his vision and mission was to salvage Kogi and this, he can’t do it alone hence their support and sacrifices to enable him succeed.
He congratulated new entrance who out of love and passion they had for the peace and development of Kogi State joined him to rebuild Kogi State.
The AA guber candidate who expressed gratitude to God and people of Kogi State for keeping faith with him and his party to lead them if elected at November 11 election.
“My STAT Agenda will increased State IGR, revive Solid Minerals Development, Trade, Agriculture and Tourism among others.”
According to him, his Agenda for the State will bring food to the table of all not minding the Reb religion and tribe one came from, noting that Kogi State is not suppose to be poor with the abundant human and natural resources.
He solicited for more support of Ankpa electorate in his bid to rescue the State from poverty.
