Kuje Prison Attack: Sen. Aduda Urges Security Stakeholders To Own Up To Their Responsibilities

The Senate minority leader, Senator Philip Aduda representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has expressed displeasure over security laxity at the Kuje correctional center which gave terrorists the chance to attack the facility unchallenged.

He called on security stakeholders to own up to their responsibilities in securing the lives and property of their citizens.

Aduda, spoke when he visited the correctional center in the company of the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, some principal officers including the honorable commissioner for Public Complaints Commission (PCC) Ezikel Dalhattu Musa, on Thursday.

He expressed displeasure over the way the facility is been poorly managed, noting with dismay the absence of CCTV cameras around the entire vicinity of the correctional center.

He, however, raised fears and concerns about the security and lives of the people of the FCT, while calling for a more concerted effort by all relevant security agencies to ensure the safety of the people of FCT across the six area councils to guarantee hope and belief in the government.

Aduda, therefore, pledged to support any kind of conversation in the national assembly that would be geared towards restoring lasting peace in the FCT and Nigeria at large.

It will be recalled that terrorists in their large numbers attacked Kuje correctional center on Tuesday night, bombing the facility and freeing over 600 inmates
