The chairman of Kwali area council, in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hon Danladi Chiya, has appointed Adamu Yakubu Mohammed, as the new district head of Wako chiefdom in the area.
Chiya, who made the announcement in a statement he personally signed and issued to newsmen on Thursday, said the appointment of the new district head followed the demised of late district head of Wako, Malam Salihu Usman who died on June 14, 2022 after a brief illness.
He said part of the duties of the newly appointed district head included maintaining of peace and order in his domain and holding of meetings with his village heads in order to foster speedy development, peace and unity among his subjects.
The chairman, while congratulating the new district head, urged him to ensured he report matters that are beyond his control to the Etsu of Wako chiefdom, His Royal Highness (HRH) Alhaji Abdulazeez D Usman.
He declared that the new district will also perform any other functions that could be given to him from time to time by the relevant authority.
“And you are also to note that failure to comply with these functions and other unethical conduct will lead to your removal from office by the relevant authority,” the statement said.
Our correspondent learnt that the new district the was special adviser to the council chairman on education during the council chairman’s first tenure.
