Chairman and the Chief Executive Officer, Maikaya Development Foundation (MDF), Alhaji Muhammed Musa Maikaya (Ciroman Toto) has charged youths in Toto local government area of Nasarawa state to always be vigilant to resist criminal activities being imported to the area by yet to be identified persons and their collaborators.
The former governorship aspirant during the 2019 election in Nasarawa state, gave the charge Saturday in Toto his country home when he received hundreds of youth, women and the vulnerable who paid him a solidarity visit.
“Be vigilant and resist criminals that are taking advantage of porous security system of the area to unleash terror on our people with active collaboration with some people among us. Report them to the appropriate authorities before they cause havoc to people and the area”, Maikaya advised.
While assuring the people of his commitment to community development, providing adequate support, poverty eradication and scholarships to deserving students, the Philanthropist advised the youths in Toto local government area to be innovative and hardworking.
The Ciroman Toto cautioned the youths against indulgence in criminal activities and advised them to embrace agriculture not only to feed themselves, but as a source of wealth.
“Commercial agriculture is lucrative and has leveled up many Nigerians who are today wealthy. If you don’t go into farming where are you going to get food from? Are you waiting for some people to produce food for you in your own land?. It Will be shameful to hear that without some people we can no longer feed or sell farm produce in our own markets. You should not let us down by running away from the ancestral responsibility” Maikaya counselled.
He also advised the Youths not to allow themselves to be used by selfish politicians who have nothing to offer but to engage them in political thuggery .
“You should not allow politicians to use you for their selfish ends. You are all witnesses to what has happened and what is on going when youths have been used and dumped, in favour of their brothers and kinsmen.
“We should know that every struggle demands sacrifice and the most basic needs like food, shelter, health, education and many more should be the major considerations after victory.”, He said.
The philanthropist therefore announced that the Maikaya Development Foundation will soon start a programme of lifting over 200 youths to be trained on different skills.
Maikaya, who earlier attended the wedding solemnization of a daughter of Nasarawa State APC Chairman, Hon. Philip Tatari Shekwo.
