Nigerians irrespective of primordial affiliations have been tasked to see inter tribal marriage as instrument of promoting harmonious leaving for socioeconomic development of the country.
A Traditional Ruler of Gwargwada, in FCT, the Agabe of Ugwada HRH Husseni Umman Stated this during the wedding fatiha of Maryam Salihu, a niece to Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi and her beloved one ISA Alhassan.
The event took place in Umashia, Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State Saturday.
After presentation of medical reports, 50 thousand naira bride prize and fulfilment of other marital rites, Maryam Salihu and Isa Alhassan were pronounced as husband and wife by Mallam Adamu Idris who implored them to adhere strictly to sanctity of marriage as enshrined in the Holy Quran.
Speaking thereafter, the traditional ruler of Gwargwada in FCT, Agabe of Gwada HRH Husseni Umman who stood in for the groom family called on Nigerians to see intermarriage as an instrument of societal integration, calling on people to promote it at all cost for harmonious leaving.
The traditional ruler said the marriage between Maryam Salihu and Isa Alhasssan has once again cement and consolidate the relationship between Speaker and the groom’s family, adding that the bond between Egbira and Gade people will further be strengthened.
On his part, the uncle to the bride and Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi called on the couple to avoid third party in their matrimony, praying God to bless them with all the blessings associated with marriage.
Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi while acknowledging to have established good relationship between the groom’s family for ages said the bond between the two family by extension Egbira and Gade nations will be buttressed for good.
