The Ona of Abaji and chairman of the FCT council of chiefs, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa, has Arsalan Sokodabo and Bilyaminu Sokodabo with the traditional title as Wambai and Tafida of Abaji, chiefdom respectively.
Our correspondent report that the two title holders were among son’s of the late FCT prominent politician, Alhaji Musa Sokodabo, who until his demised was the (Wambai of Abaji).
Also turbaned with the traditional title were, immediate former chairman of the council and APC house of representative candidate for Abuja south federal constituency, Alhaji Abdulrahman Ajiya, Dr Sidi Ali Mohammed as (Makama) of Abaji, Alhaji Yahaya Wanigi Mohammed as (Masami) of Abaji, the special duties to the FCT minister, Hajiya Farida Odangi as (Gimbiya) of Abaji alongside 36 other prominent personalities.
Speaking during the turbanning, the Ona of Abaji, said the palace decided to conferred the traditional titles on the personalities because of their immense contribution to the palace.
He said the recipient have also contributed a lot towards peace and development of Abaji chiefdom, including empowerment of both the youth and women across the chiefdom.
According to him, the conferment of the traditional titles on the personalities was a collective resolution of the palace King makers.
The monarch, while congratulating the recipients of the titles, urged them to to see the titles conferred on them as a task to do more for the entire good people of the area.
He, however, urged parents across the chiefdom to ensured they encourage their children acquire education, which he said is the bedrock of any society.
He also called for continuous peaceful coexistence among his subjects irrespective of tribe, religious and ethnic affiliations, while also urging farmers and headers to ensure peace among themselves.
Also speaking, Alhaji Bilyaminu Sokodabo, who was turbaned as the Tafida of Abaji, appreciated the monarch and entire members of the traditional council for conferring him with the traditional title as the Tafida of Abaji chiefdom.
He, however, noted that the 25th year of the Ona of Abaji Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa has brought a lot development and peaceful co-existence across all the tribes in the area.
He said as a youth, he will continue to ensure that the youth across the chiefdom are giving utmost priority especially in the area of seeking for employment for the graduates in the area.
“There is no doubt that the 25th years on throne of the Ona of Abaji and chairman of the FCT council of chiefs, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa, has witnessed tremendous peace, progress and development across all shares of life. And we give praise to God for keeping him in good and sound health as we shall continue to support him, ” he said.
