Nasarawa Assembly Passes Bill Preventing Drug Abuse, As Hon Abdulaziz Suleiman Danladi Commended On Bill Sponsorship.

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has passed into second reading a bill for a Law to Prohibit Substance Abuse and Provide Treatment for Substance Abusers and Addicts 2021.

Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, the Speaker of the House announced its passage into second reading after Hon Abdulaziz Suleiman Danladi ( APC- Keffi East) the sponsor of the bill gave its substance during the House proceedings in Lafia today.

The speaker committed the bill to the House Committee on Health to work on it and report back to the House in the next four weeks.

” I will commit the bill to the House Committee on Health and I am giving you four weeks to work on the bill and report back to the House,” he said

“I want to appreciate and commend Hon Abdulaziz for initiating this bill because it is a good bill, we will the l work on it and if need be I will subject it to the public hearing so we can get the best out of it.” the Speaker aa added.

Earlier, Hon Abdulaziz Suleiman Danladi member representing Keffi East constituency and the sponsor of the bill said that the bill is finally passed into law was aimed to Prohibit substance abuse and provide treatment for substance abusers.

Members who contributed Hon Tanko Tunga, Hon. Muhammed Okpoku, Hon. David Maiyaki, Hon. Musa Iyimoga and Hon Daniel Ogaon supported the bill considering its effect on society calling for more inputs to get the best out of the bill.
