Nestlé To Employ Batch 2 Technical Training Graduands

The managing director and Chief Executive Officer, Nestlé Nigeria, Wassim Elhusseini, has said that the company will add to the workforce 20 of the batch 2 of 2019/2021 graduands of the technical training of the company.

Elhusseini, who stated this at the graduation ceremony of the Nestlé’s technical training centre at Manderegi Nestle’s factory in Abaji, on Thursday, noted that over 120 students has benefited in the technical programme and the batch 2 will be employed.

He said Nestle’s has since 2011 invested in helping young people with technical skills and machining mechanical operation, instrumentation and automation.

According to him, over 120 students has benefited from the program so far, which he said over 90% of them directly employed by Nestlé Nigeria.

“And I am proud to say that this batch, 100% all of you will be employed by Nestlé Nigeria,” he said.

Also speaking, the Abaji factory manager of Nestle’s Nigeria, Ayodele Ayeokere, while commending the graduands for their resilience, determination and adaptation to the skills acquired despite the Covid-19 pandemic, urged them to be innovative, adventurous and seize every opportunity to tackle challenges in their career path.

Elhusseini, however, noted that young people have key role to play in driving a resilience community and as such the company is passionate about helping the youth within the capability and strength to find fulfilling jobs or create their own businesses.

He added that technical strength are more essential than ever for supporting industrialization for Nigeria as Nestlé remains committed to providing all the necessary technical skills to succeed in the world of work through her technical training programme supported by Industrial Training Fund (ITF) and the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA).

He said the technical training centre in Abaji will continue to expand to reach more youth in order to reduce unemployment, while creating pipeline of skilled technicians for use and the industry at large.

The factory manager, Abaji, Ayodele Ayeokere while commending the graduands for their resilience, determination and adaptation to the skills acquired despite the Covid-19 pandemic urged them to be innovative, adventurous and seize every opportunity to tackle challenges in their career path.
