NFWP: Kebbi Deputy Governor Declared Open A 3 Day Orientation Workshop

In a bid to equipped the women folk in Kebbi State with modern knowledge in order to face any challenges, Mr. Sama’ila Yombe, the Deputy Governor of Kebbi State has on Thursday declared open a 3 day orientation workshop for Nigeria for Women Project (NFWP) in the state.

The Deputy Governor who doubled as the chairman State steering committee of NFWP, had earlier on Wednesday received the National Co-ordinator of the project, Mrs Ruth Mshelia in his office.

The workshop was aimed at strengthening the capacity of all state level project staff to gain knowledge, understanding and accelerate implementation of the project.

Core values, implementation, organizational structure, procurement, accounting processes and compliance, Team building and cooperation in project management were part of salient keys of discussion at the orientation workshop.

The state Steering Committee chairman, Sama’ila Yombe Dabai appealed to participants to gather all necessary attention and benefit from the programme for the betterment of the people of the state.

He further emphasized that women empowerment is an empowerment for all while extolling the wife of the state governor, Dr Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu over her activities in the state.

Keynote speakers at the event were, permanent secretary, ministry of Women and Social Development, Hajiya A’ishatu Muhammad Maikurata, National Co-ordinator of the Project, Mrs Ruth Peter Mshelia as well as the State Project Co-ordinator, Alh Yakubu Muhammad Yauri.
