Nigeria Port Authority (NPA) Empowers 100 Women, Youths In Kogi.

It was jubilations and show of gratitude in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi state, as over 100 women and youths from the eleven wards of Okene Local Government received grinding and sewing machines distributed by the Nigeria Port Authority under the leadership of Haijia Hadiza Bala Usman as part of its corporate social responsibilities.

The Vocational Skills Training and Empowerment program was targeted at lifting idle youths and women from the shackles of poverty and making them to be self-reliant with the skills acquired and empowerment.

Speaking at the well organised event in Okene, the leader of the team from the Nigeria Port Authority, Mr Yusuf Ibrahim Eneye explained the rational behind the laudable initiative, pointing out that as a responsible government agency, they had engaged in helping to lift Nigerians out of poverty.

Mr Yusuf enjoined the beneficiaries to make good use of the items so as to achieve the desired goal.

He praised the commitment and leadership style of the Administrator of Okene Local Government Council, Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad describing him as a perfect gentleman, a result oriented fellow and a lover of peace and development.

In his remark, the Council Administrator ably represented by the Council Supervisor for Health, Hon. Sueimam Jatto assures the agency that the beneficiaries would not only put the items to use as desired but will also train others to be self reliant

He said, the Local Government Council under the leadership of Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad will continue to attract meaningful developments to the area from within and outside the state.
