Close ranks, remain steadfast — Nasarawa Speaker tells LG chairmen, councilors

The Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, has urged elected councillors across the state to maintain good working relationship with their local government chairmen across the state for development to thrive.

The Speaker made the call while playing host to principal officers of the 13 local government legislative councils in Lafia on Tuesday.

He said that it is only when the councillors and their chairmen maintain good and cordial relationship that there will be speedy development across the state.

” I want to appreciate you for the visit and to urge you to continue to live in peace and maintain good working relationship with your chairmen.

” That is the only way to achieve speedy development in your respective local government areas, ” he said.

The Speaker also urged them to carry out their legislative duties with the fear of God emphasizing that all the issues they raised will be addressed in no distance time especially now that House Standing Committees has constituted.

Earlier, Abdulmalik Mailafia, Chairman, Speaker Forum, Nasarawa State Local Government Legislative Forum said that the visit was to congratulate the Speaker on his election as the Speaker for the third term.

Mailafia said that the forum is happy with the Speaker for providing purposeful and all inclusive leadership in the state.

The leader of the delegation, appealed to the Speaker to intervention in the areas of their training, payments of furnitures allowance and other benefits.

He assured of their determination to work in synergy with their local government chairmen for the development of their respective local government areas.
