The entire leadership of Northern Youth Council Of Nigeria, NYCN, under the able leadership of Dr. Abdulkadir Mohammed Jiya, on Friday stormed the Kogi State Ministry for Solid Minerals and Naturals Resources to support and encourage Engineer Abubakar Bashir Gegu whom they described as an Icon of administrative prudence to continue with his leadership style aimed at giving back to the society.
The Northern Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, is a multi-cultural organization with membership cut across the nineteen northern states of the federation and have over 2.7 million youth under its leadership.
According to Leader of the delegation, Dr. Abdulkadir Mohammed Jiya says “as keen observers of leadership world over, the NYCN, being the vanguard of the oppressed voice of the voiceless and that of the Talakawa’s has over the years identify with some distinguished personalities who have deem it fit and necessary to demystified services above self emancipation of the northern masses.”
“Sir your visionary leadership quality and characteristics are rarely found lately. You both represent a ray of hope not only for the north but for the black continent. We share in your remarkable characteristics, vision and quest for positive national development. ”
On this note, the northern youth found you worthy and most qualified to be awarded as “Icon of youth and community development as well as traditional tittle of JAGABAN MATASAN AREWA.
The council further reiterated it resolve and commitment towards supporting Kogi State government to achieve its set goals and as well seeking collaboration in areas of youth inclusiveness in leadership and empowerment for its members among others.
Reacting to his Conferment, the Commissioner for solid Minerals and Naturals Resources, Engineer Abubakar Bashir Gegu expressed total gratitude to Almighty Allah for witnessing his special elevation by the northern youth, saying he was taken by surprised as he has never met the group before.
The Commissioner who was impromptu represented at the event by a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Koton-Karfe, Kogi LG, Mallam Abdulrahman Original says Engineer Abubakar Bashir Gegu wish to be in attendance but received an urgent call for anothr critical state matters outside the State capital in which he equally sent his apology.
According to him, quoting from the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello: the tommorow has come for the youth to participate actively in politics and governance of this great nation.
He said the Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello led APC administration in Kogi State has demonstrated his leadership acumen, capability, ability and has shown commitment over the years towards identify with youth and women constituency by given them a sense of belonging in his ongoing administration.
The Commissioner said he was impressed with level and manner the Nigerian youth now organize themselves to be part of government at all Levels with aimed of contributing their quota to the development of their various communities.
He appealed to youth organization across the country to shun social vices, drugs abuse and all form of criminality in order to be taken serious in the scheme of things.
In a similar vein, Special Adviser on Job Creation, SMEs to the Kogi State Governor, Hon. Danladi Suleiman Aguye was also honour following his numerous immersed contribution to the development of his people and youth of Kogi State.
The event had in attendance both leaders, students, APC Stalwarts and some party executives from both Kogi, Lokoja and other places who have come to witnessed and celebrate with their leader.
