Over a year, the Office of the Nasarawa State Social Investment Programme (NSSIP) came on board, the Governor of Nasarawa State, Alhaji Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule led administration has commenced payment of N5,000 monthly stipends it promised to poor and vulnerable citizens in the State.

The development which was capture during the campaign promises of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in 2019 Governorship campaign by Engineer Abdullahi A Sule as to cushion the effect poverty in the State.

With the commitment of the present administration in the State led by Governor Abdullahi A. Sule has shown more commitment over the year, the focal person and Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Humanitarian Affairs to Nasarawa State Governor, Hon. Imran Jibrin Usman says Karu and Keffi received their third phase of payment respectively.

Hon. Jibrin maintained that the administration of Governor Abdullahi A. Sule is paying 5,000 Naira monthly stipends to the poorest and the most vulnerable in the State as part of efforts to fulfilled all his campaign promises made to the citizens of Nasarawa State.

According to the focal person, the payments are being made through the Office of the Nasarawa State Social Investment Programmes (NSSIP) and Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) under the leadership of Hon. Imran Jibrin Usman.

The amount was part of campaign promises the administration made to the citizens before they were elected.

He noted that under the NSSIP, thousands of targeted households would receive 5,000 Naira monthly payments which has been in operation over the year, as a form of social safety net for the poorest and most vulnerable as budgeted for.

A statement by the NSSIP office says Governor Abdullahi A Sule efforts aimed at improving the living conditions of the poor and the vulnerable people in the state through the Office of the Nasarawa State Social Investment Programme (NSSIP), under the State Focal Person and Senior Special Assistant on Humanitarian Services to the Governor, Hon Imran Usman Jibrin, on Tuesday, commenced the third payment of the 5000 naira monthly stipend (popularly known as “Kudin A. A Sule”) to beneficiaries of the State Conditional Cash Transfer Programme (NASCCTP) in Keffi and Karu Local Government Areas of the state.

Imran Jibrin Usman expressed appreciation to the state governor for his support in ensuring the success of the exercise which is targeted at assisting the most vulnerable in the society.

While ensuring transparency, fairness and candour in the exercise, some beneficiaries who did not get their stipend during the second disbursement got 10, 000 naira during the third payment exercise.

The SSA further enjoined the beneficiaries to make wise use of the stipend to improve their lives.

On their part, the beneficiaries of the state government grants spoke collectively by expressing gratitude to Governor Sule for his humanitarian gesture

It would be recalled that in March, 2021, Governor Sule flagged-off the State Cash Transfer Programme in Lafia aimed at improving the living conditions of the poor and the vulnerable people in the state.
