NYCN ELECTION: “THERE’S NO GOVERNMENT CANDIDATE” – Hon. Idris declares

 

 

Ahead of the forthcoming State election of the National Youth Council Nigeria, NYCN, Kogi Chapter, the State government has maintained stand not to interfere in the internal politics of the youth organization in the State.

Kogi state Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Idris Musa (Danjuma Oando) disclosed this following stakeholders meeting with leaders of the Council in his Office in Lokoja.

Reacting to raised issues of the group bordering allegation across some quarters that the state government is fielding/imposing a particular candidate, Hon. Idris said, such purported allegation could only be the hand work of enemies of the state aimed at distabilizing the unity of the Council.

He charged leaders and members of the youth body to maintain calmness, disregard such rumours, describing it as “lies and baseless”

He urged the council leaders to remain focus to the youth course and avoid all forms of distraction at this critical point of electing their new set of leaders, stressing that all mercenaries are already in motion by the supervising ministry and relevant body to deliver a free, fair and transparent state elections in accordance with the tenets of the organization.

The Commissioner expressed confidence that guidelines for the electioneering processes as stipulated in the group’s constitution shall be made public during next stakeholders meeting as unanimously resolved at the meeting.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth and Student Affairs, Comrade Jibrin Oludare in his remarks, further reassured the Council stakeholders of a level plain ground ahead of the State elections.
