TODA To Partner Nasarawa Gov’t Over Kidnapping, Banditry.

A group, under the aigies of Toto Development Association (TODA) in Toto Local Government Council of Nasarawa state has pledged to partner with the state government to help in tackling incessant cases of kidnappings, banditry and other crimes in the area.
The president of TODA, Alhaji Muhammed Musa Maikaya, stated this when he led other executive members of the association on a visit to the Ohimegye of Opanda-Umaisha, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Alhaji Usman Abdullahi, at his palace on Wednesday.

He said the need for the association to partner with the state government to help to tackling insecurity in the area became imperative due to incessant cases of kidnapping and banditry by gunmen in the axis.
According to him, the association also deemed it necessary to reached out to other relevant stakeholders as well as its sister association, Umaisha Development Association (UDA) in order to come together to unite and tackle the upsurge in kidnappings, banditry and other crimes in the area.
He said that apart from coming together of the two associations to sustained peaceful coexistence and harmonized one interest, the two associations would also collaborate to assist the less privileged and downtrodden across the local government.
“And apart from collaborating with the state government in the area of security, the two associations will also be coming together to see how we can bring development to the entire local government as well as how we can assist the less privileged and the vulnerable ones in the society,” he said.
The Ohimegye of Opanda-Umaisha, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Alhaji Usman Abdullahi, advised the association to ensure that the aim and objectives of the association was in conformity with the policies of the state government.
He also cautioned them not to allowed their association to be dragged into politics, saying such association can only survive its best of time when it was not against the government, even as he commended TODA for their initiative.
