NYCN: HON. IDRIS CONGRATULATES NEW KOGI EXECUTIVE, CALLS FOR ADVANCEMENT OF YOUTH CAUSE
The Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development Kogi State, Hon. Idris Musa (Danjuma Oando) has congratulated the newly elected Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria(Kogi state chapter), Comrade Usman Ogohi Samuel and other executive members of the
council on their victory at the just concluded state Congress held on 29th July, 2021 at the Lokoja Township Stadium.
His congratulatory message followed the official announcement of results for the peacefully conducted election at the State Capital.
Hon. Idris while assuring the newly elected officials of the State Council of constant Government support through the ministry, charged them to use their positions to advance the cause of Kogi state youths.
He advised the new leadership of the State Chapter of the Council to complement the
vision of the Ministry and the State Government as good ambassadors of the state, especially now that their actions and conduct would
be subject to public scrutiny.
The Commissioner admonished them to explore the open door policy of the youth-friendly administration of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello to always express themselves for the benefit of the youths they will be representing.
Hon. Idris enjoined all the candidates who participated in the election to embrace the spirit of sportsmanship and
accept the results of the election in good faith while urging youths in the state to work in synergy with all the youth officials in moving the state to the next level.
He commended the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for his support to all youth body in the State, expressing confidence that the new leadership will use the platform to form a formidable force with the government for the advancement, mobilisation and
coordination of youth development.
He tasked the executive to justify the confidence reposed
in them by Kogi youths by working tirelessly, upholding and promoting the youth-friendly policies and programs of the current administration in the interest of the youth constituency.
The Commissioner wished them a successful service year to the youth cause, charging them to always have in mind that they were elected to selfless service.
