In a desperate attempt, Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano on Monday, has despatched vehicles laden with condemned engine oil and cement to fill up excavated portions of road already undergoing reconstruction by the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah.
It would be Recalled that the Senator had commenced the construction of the internal roads in Nnewi in line with his promise few weeks ago on Authority 91.9 FM, where he focused on the viral demands from majority of the callers into the program and made the promise to ameliorate their sufferings while plying the dilapidated roads.
An eye witness who doesn’t want his name in print to Global Times Nigeria that the Nnewi North Local Government Area Transition Committee Chairman, Mr Chukwudi Orizu was detailed this morning to request for a letter notifying the state government of Senator Ubah’s intention to commence the repairs after their initial plan to organise a protest against the road construction was turned down by APGA members in Nnewi who wondered why they should be asked to protest against such a good gesture.
Global Times Nigeria gathered that the request for letter from the Anambra South Senator was acceded to this morning despite the fact that the road in question is a federal road. Upon request, the letter was immediately dispatched to the Local Government Transition Chairman for onward transmission to the Government house.

It is very unfortunate that the APGA led state government will chose to sacrifice the well being of its people on the alter of petty politics.
