……Says Agege failed because Deltans voted for integrity, competence and good character.

Executive Assistant on Communications to Delta State Governor, Olorogun Barr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has said that Deltans voted for the Governor-Elect, Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, because of his outstanding performance, integrity, good character and competence he exhibited over the years.

Oghenesivbe made the assertion while speaking as a guest of Delta Television public affairs programme ‘Morning Ride’ and Crown FM on Tuesday, saying that Elder Oborevwori is unarguably the best person to govern Delta State at this time because he’s adequately prepared, accessible, humble with the required leadership skills to build on the enviable and enduring legacies of the incumbent governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, CON.

He debunked the insinuations by the opposition political detractors that Oborevwori was imposed on the people by Gov Okowa, pointing out that the Governor-Elect won the party’s governorship primary that was keenly contested, free, fair, transparent, and that the entire voting and results collation process was televised live on national television, and no aspirant challenged the process that led to Oborevwori’s victory at the Guber primary.

Oghenesivbe, who is also the spokesperson of Delta PDP Campaign Council, further disclosed that the M.O.R.E Agenda is to advance Delta through Meaningful Development, Opportunity for all Deltans, Realistic Reforms and Enhanced Peace and Security, adding that the good governance strides of governor Okowa shall be improved upon to bring about progress, peace and prosperity for the people, beginning from May 29, this year.

And on the petitions filed at the Election Petition Tribunal by opposition parties; the Social Democratic Party, SDP, and All Progressives Congress, APC, and their candidates, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi and Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Oghenesivbe averred that it will end in praise for his principal and Governor-Elect, His Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, JP., saying that the election results were collated, computed and declared based on number of voters accredited on the BVAS machines, making it credible and difficult to set aside by the Tribunal and in our Courts.

He berated Senator Agege and Olorogun Gbagi, over what he called “undemocratic attitude of not accepting defeat at the polls,” urging them to emulate the patriotic spirit exhibited by candidates of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, and that of the New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP, Chief Great Ogboru and Engr Goodnews Goodman Agbi, respectively, who paid congratulatory visits to the incoming governor of Delta State, Elder Oborevwori.

Oghenesivbe, a full member of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, NIIA, and Distinguished Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management, Dcism, noted that to win governorship election, the political party must have solid structure, must be trusted by the people while the candidate must have excelled in previous assigned responsibilities in public spheres, saying that the combination of these essential requirements gave PDP and Oborevwori a resounding landslide victory on March 18 and in twenty one local governments out of 25 LGAs in the state.

He posited that Senator Agege failed woefully at the polls because Deltans do not compensate deviant citizens for their criminal propensity and unholy activities, noting that Agege misfired by thinking that because the APC national government compensated him over his odious roles in mace snatching at the National Assembly, which aborted the impeachment of Mr President, same will be accorded him at the state level by winning the Guber election via APC crude influence. This is where he got it wrong.

Oghenesivbe further asserted that the repulsive and vexed negative personality traits of Senator Agege shall go a long way in affecting his future political career in the state, and that he will be rejected at the polls again should he decide to run for the office of Governor in 2027.

“The results of the election was collated, computed and declared based on the number of accredited voters captured by INEC BVAS machines, as well as votes scored by each political party.

“Agents of parties inspected the BVAS machines to confirm the figures recorded, votes were counted in the presence of party agents and each of the agents signed for their respective political parties at the units, Ward and LGAs collation points and centres.

“Therefore, it will be difficult for Agege and Gbagi to fault the victory of my amiable Principal and incoming governor of Delta State, Elder Oborevwori. It will end as exercise in futility for the litigants. Agege and Gbagi are chasing shadows and wasting money unnecessarily. Their people need the money to start small scale businesses.

“The huge funds that will be wasted on legal fees and logistics can be deployed by Olorogun Gbagi and Senator Agege to empower their people, send them to skills acquisition centres for training, give them financial grants to start small scale businesses as this administration have been doing, raising young entrepreneurs and millionaires under Gov Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, CON.

“Senator Agege failed at the polls because majority of our people abhors criminality, arrogance, selfish political interest and can’t reward Agege over uncomplimentary negative personality traits and poor leadership style exhibited over the years. They simply could not trust him to be their governor and that was it.

“The Governor-Elect, Rt Hon Oborevwori was the man our people yearned for, campaigned for, preferred and they massively voted for him across the state, and he legally and morally holds the Peoples’ mandate which is now a social contract between the incoming governor and the people.

“Oborevwori’s M.O.RE agenda will perfect his social contract with Deltans through good governance and overall development of the state, beginning from May 29, this year,” Oghenesivbe assured.
