On Saturday the Egbira nation under the umbrella of Ohiku Egbira Descendants Union, OEDU, gather in Kotonkarfe, Kogi local government area of Kogi state following their collectively resolved and agreed to achieve the task of unification.
The coming together materialised after some years of extensive consultations with the Egbira traditional rulers, leaders of thoughts and stakeholders where the entire People of Egbira nation formerly known as (Ebira, Egbura, Etuno/Igara agreed to work together as one entity with a common destiny
The former political adviser to Kogi State Governor, Hon. High Chief, Alhaji Abdulhameed Danjuma Gegu said the newly incorporated Egbira Descendants Union is committed to unity of Nigeria and has taken the lead of a fair and one Nigeria
Alhaji Danjuma Gegu stated this during Ohiku Egbira Descendants Union Convention held in Koton-karfe, the headquarters of Kogi LG the marks the 2nd convention after its amalgamation.
The occasion had in attendance, Kogi State Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello ably represented by a Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy affairs, former military Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Col. Christ Ali, former Kogi State Deputy Governor, His Excellency, Dr. Philip Omeiza Salau, Commissioners, politicians, university Dons, legal luminary, captains of industries and traditional rulers from all Egbira towns.
“We will work with other Nigerians to restore the peace of this nation. We will work with the people for the love and unity of this country.
He calls on other tribes in Nigeria to adopt same synergy aimed at changing the narrative by ensuring peace, unity, development and security of this great nation paramount.
He equally congratulated the entire Egbira nation for its successful convention and expressed his open determination, support, loyalty and solidarity to the mother’s union.
Alhaji Abdulhameed Danjuma Gegu is the Financial Secretary of the Ohiku Egbira Descendants Union, he hail from Gegu Beki in Kogi LGA of the State.
