Poised to fulfil electioneering promise made to the people of Kogi east senatorial district, the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Chief Edward Onoja has directed members of the “Project Light Up Kogi East” (PLUKE) to accelerate efforts to provide the area with electricity.
Chief Onoja who gave the directive on Wednesday when members of the committee resumed to assess progress of work which was suspended following the rains and the campaign activities towards the November 16 governorship election, said the project should commence in ernest and be completed according to schedule and specification.
The Deputy Governor who is equally the Chairman of the committee
charged the Administrators of the 9 local government areas benefiting from the project to ensure that the 97 Wards that make up Kogi East are fully mobilized to cooperate for the successful completion of the project.
Representative of the Attah Igala, HRH, Shaibu Okolo and other members of the committee expressed gratitude to the government of Governor Yahaya Bello for keeping faith with the promise of electrifying Kogi East, noting that the project would go a long way in making life meaningful for the people of the area.
