Party chieftain, Benedict Godson, harps on greater development of APC, declares loyalty to Ikechi Emenike-led leadership

The Deputy Board Chairman of Federal Medical Center, Abeokuta, Ogun State, and Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress from Abia state, Comrade Benedict Godson, has harped on the need for the APC to stand as a united front to ensure greater growth and development of the party.
Godson also disclosed that he has decided to join and work for the All Progressive Congress under the leadership of Chief Ikechi Emenike.
Chief Emenike is the Secretary of the APC National Convention Committee on Contact, Strategy and Mobilization, and husband to Nigerian Envoy to the United States of America, Ambassador Uzoma Ikechi Emenike.
However, Benedict Godson, who was also the immediate past Publicity Secretary of the APC in Abia state, in a release issued to journalists in Umuahia, on Thursday, also announced the withdrawal of his loyalty and support to Hon Acho Obioma led factional leadership of the party and the interim State Caretaker Executive Committee chaired by Hon Donatus Nwankpa.
The withdrawal of loyalty to the factional leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Nwankpa/Obioma led leadership was coming on the heels of the outcomes of the October 16th, 2021 parallel state congress that turned controversial leading to the emergence of two Chairmen of the party in Abia state chapter.
Continuing, the former APC spokesman, reiterated his belief that APC in Abia is united and stronger under the leadership of Chief Ikechi Emenike, reassuring his total dedication to the development of the party in the state.
“His words “We want to use this medium to state clearly that We believe that APC in Abia State is united and stronger under the leadership of High Chief Ikechi Emenike and we hereby use this medium to officially announce our loyalty and dedication to this one and only APC, Abia State chapter.
“Note that any other announcement, report, or statement that goes contrary to the information here should be disregarded. We are happy with my decision and We stand by it and We know it is the correct decision for anyone who wants the progress of our party should take”.
Our correspondent reports that those who joined the Deputy Board Chairman of Federal Medical Center, Ogun State, to withdraw loyalty and support to Nwankpa/Obioma led State Executive Committee of the APC in Abia includes the immediate past State Organizing Secretary of the party, Chief Obi Aham and State legal Adviser, Barrister Menyechi Onuoha.
