Police Nabs 3 Suspected Robbers For Attacking POS Shop In Kogi.

Kogi state Police command has arrested three persons suspected to be armed robbers at Ogidi on Ijumu local government area of the state.

A press release signed by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO,), DSP William Aya, stated that the operatives of the Operation Puff Adder 11 in Iyara Divisional Police Office received a report of an attack by three armed men on a POS shop, snatching thousands of naira and inflicting injuries on the operator.

On receiving the report, men of the Operation Puff Adder swiftly swung into action and in collaboration with other security agencies and intelligence gathered from volunteers, the suspects were trailed to their hide out and arrested.

DSP Aya also disclosed that one single barrel gun and assorted phones were recovered from the suspected robbers and investigation into the incident has commenced.

He explained that the state Commissioner of Police, CP, Ede Ayuba Ekpeji had earlier directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, operational and tactical Commanders as well as intelligence Officers to secure public places and guarantee a safe and secure environment for all.

The suspects will be arraigned in court on completion of the investigation.

The Commissioner of Police has reassured members of the public of the Command’s level of commitment in synergy with other security agencies in the state to ensure adequate protection of lives and properties.

He called on the public to always volunteer credible and timely information on the activities of criminal elements in the State.
