As we embark on another historic stride of the Holy Month of Ramadan today, I would like to wish my bossom friend and boss; His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the Executive Governor of our beloved State, as well as the entire Muslim community: Ramadan Mubarak.

Today, we join millions of Muslims across the world in welcoming the Holy Month of Blessings, bearing in mind that yet again, we get the glorious opportunity to engage in acts of charity, prayer and self-reflection, sacrifice, devotion and renewed strength.

Without doubt, the contributions of the Muslim Faithful to our beloved Kogi State are ever-growing; adding to the richness and diversity of our nation in whole. These positive contributions still leave indelible marks on our economic, political and sociocultural and moral lives.

Regrettably, the Covid-19 pandemic that currently plagues our World would take it’s toll on activities originally scheduled for the the Holy Month. However, as we observe our Fast, I urge us not to deter in our prayers for Allah’s continued protection of our dear State while the World seeks for quick-solutions to ending the pandemic.

The Kogi State Government reminds us to maintain all Safety measures put up by the Federal Government and the NCDC as we observe our Ramadan programmes in faith to Allah.

Finally, as the crescent moon is sighted and the Holy Month of Ramadan begins, I pray that may Allah bless you with his love, unity, happiness and grace your home with his warmth and peace. Let those with much assist those without.
