Senator Aduda’s aide, FCT PCC commissioner gets traditional titles

The traditional ruler of Tungan – major chiefdom in Gwagwalada area council of Abuja, His Royal Highness (HRH) Salihu Isyaku Na’Annabi, has turbaned, Samuel Danjuma Shekwolo, the Senior special assistant on special duties to the senate minority leader, Senator Philip Aduda as the (Mabudin) Tungan Maje chiefdom.

Also turbaned is the honorable commissioner for Public Complaints Commission (PCC) Ezikel Dalhattu Musa, as the (Madugun) Tungan – Maje chiefdom alongside 65 prominent persons in the area, which included seven new wards heads of the chiefdom.

Speaking during the coronation ceremony held at LEA primary school, Tungan Maje on Saturday, the traditional ruler, Salihu Isyaku Na’Annabi, said the palace decided to coffered such titles on the personalities based on their consistent and relentless commitment to excellence that the chiefdom found worthy of note.

He said the recipients of the traditional titles have a good track record with high contributions to Tungan Maje community development, which he said demonstrated their enormous contribution to building the chiefdom.

He, therefore, called on the recipients of the traditional titles to see their turban as a call to duty for leaders in all positions of authority in the Tongan Maje community to continue to rededicate, redirect and reconnect their efforts in supporting myriad problems of insecurity, lack of good roads, electricity and among others challenges.

The traditional ruler, while congratulating the recipients for accepting the titles and other dignitaries for honoring the invitation, noted that Tungan Maje chiefdom is the first that has held such kind of great occasion, in which he called on other chiefs and village heads to emulate him.

The FCT Commissioner for Public Complaints Commission (PCC) Ezikel Dalhattu Musa, while speaking with newsmen after his coronation as the (Mudugun) of Tungan Maje, said he was overwhelmed with the title conferred on him, even as he said the traditional title signified a ‘person that leads a battle or struggles for the masses.

He recalled how he and groups have been struggling for the natives of Tungan Maje community over encroachment of their lands by the Nigeria army right 2019 through the support of Senator Philip Aduda.

“Even recently when there was a brutality on the people of Tungan Maje, as a commissioner for PCC, I had to wade in to ensure that peaceful resolution is reached,” he said.

He further recalled how he instituted a case against the Nigerian army over land tussle, saying until a committee was instituted where there was a good relationship between the natives of Tungan Maje and the military.

The commissioner, however, said that the conferment of the traditional title on him was a boost, which he said will make him do more for the good people of the Tungan Maje community.

On his part, the senior special assistant on special duties to senator Philip Aduda, Danjuma Shekwolo, also appreciated the monarch for finding him worthy of the title.

He said the title conferred on him will enhance him to do more especially in the area of provisions of viable amenities through the office of the senate minority leader, Senator Philip Aduda.
