Senator Nwaogu laments the continued marginalization of women in political party’s administrations, tasks Nigerians on PVC

The ex-representative of Abia Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly and the immediate past Pro-chancellor of Federal University of Calabar, Cross-River State, Senator Nkechi Nwaigu, has harped on the urgent need for all eligible Abia citizens and entire Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) to enable exercise their franchise ahead of the 2023 general election.
This was even Nwaogu decried continued marginalization of the female gender in the world, especially in the politics of Nigeria and other positions if true despite all they have been able to achieve over the years.
However, Senator Nwaogu, while speaking on the significance of the voters which contained in a statement she posted on her Facebook page, on Wednesday, noted that the usefulness of acquiring the voter’s card cannot be overemphasized, advising the Abia electorates to take the ongoing registration and Revalidation exercise being conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission, as civil responsibility tilted at a throne good governance in the state and as well, deepening democratic process in the country at large.
According to the APC Stalwart, “our PVC is the only criteria we have to effect any positive transformation and is also a prerequisite for us to exercise our franchise.
“Let us utilize the ongoing voter’s registration and revalidation of Permanent Voters Card by the Independent National Electoral Commission to equip ourselves for the next general election”.
Continuing, Nwaogu also applauded the women for their immense contribution towards deepening democracy in Nigeria and stressed that women in the country have proven themselves and set an unassailable track record in their various areas of endeavors.
She encouraged the women to continue in their quest for inclusiveness and a society devoid of intimidation and discrimination against the female.
On the bill for Affirmative action for women in political party administration which was rejected by the National Assembly, Senator Nwaogu insisted that it was clear evidence of the unjust, unfair and biased treatment meted out women over the years, and also urged the leadership of the National Assembly to reconsider their decision.
