Service To Humanity: Again Rice Man Set To Distributes Rice To Edo Populace Ahead Of Christmas
The routine rounds of yearly rice sharing to the unconnected in the society by Barr. Ken Imansuangbon, AKA Rice Man, would birth in Edo South today as expectant recipients are eagerly waiting for the arrival of the tons of rice and other gift items that will go to prison inmates, streets, orphanages, hospitals, and ordinary passersby.
Barr. Ken Imansuangbon who started this philanthropic gesture 17 years ago annually, has been sharing rice with the entire local government in Edo North and Edo Central in the past 3 days making sure the common man and woman in the streets have a 10kg bag to take home for the yuletide.
In one of his interviews, which was emotionally laden, he called on other wealthy individuals in the society and politicians to emulate the good deeds of Late Captain Hosa Okunbor who was well known for his uncommon philanthropic gestures.
He added that no Edo State citizen should go to bed with the fear of not knowing what to eat. From his experience during this sharing exercise, he said it’s obvious, without being hyperbolic, that there is so much hunger in the state and everyone better off should do the much he or she can do to help in managing the dire situation.
Ken Imansuangbon is due to attend the public presentation of the returned artifacts today at the Palace of the Oba of Benin Kingdom on the invitation and would proceed after the ceremony to share the rice with the public in the whole local government area that makes up Edo South Senatorial District.
