In an efforts to reward philanthropist gesture of Maikaya Development Foundation (MDF) for impacting lives positively over the years.
Today being Sunday, 27th September 2020, YAN National Speaker and Desk Officer to the foundation, Mr. Shuaibu Sani delivered the keynote address on behalf of the Grand Patron of the foundation, Alhaji Chief Muhammed Musa Maikaya, (Ciroma Toto) where emphasis was placed on the strategic role young men are expected to play in combating this dreaded scourge in our communities.
“We emphasized and re-emphasized that all hands must be on deck to holistically tackle cases of abuse of substance amongst our youths and the need to shun ill-gotten wealth which has propelled some of our people to indulge in rape of minors with the myopic mindsets of making it ‘QUICKLY’ so as to be counted amongst the halves in the society”.
The organizers of the event also presented an Award of Excellence tagged “ICON OF PEACE AND DEMOCRACY 2020″, to the Grand Patron, Alhaji Maikaya for his tremendous efforts and laudable contribution in promoting peace and sincere commitment in projecting the ideals of democracy in the State and beyond”.
“As a foundation, we are poised to do more in the continuous advocacy on the need to sanitize the system and nip into bud permanently the scourge of rape, drug abuse and other societal ills that is prevalent amongst us. This is part of our corporate social responsibilities. We shall do more to tame this menace”.
The event took place at the New Abaga Toni Palace, Garaku, Kokona LGA of Nasarawa State had in attendance prominent sons and daughters of Nasarawa State and beyond amongst which are Hon Saidu Kurki, Executive Chairman, Kokona LGA, Hon Samuel Akala, the Executive Chairman, Karu LGA, His Royal Highness, Mr Lawrence Sylvester Ayih, Abaga Toni, Hon Abdulkarim Usman Ombamas, Member Representing Akwanga, Wamba and Nasarawa Eggon Federal Constituency(ably rep) and other dignitaries too numerous to mention.
