…..Praises State Govt. Security architecture for rescue over 30 kidnap victims in forest.

Chairman Toto Local Government Council, Hon. Aliyu Abdullahi Tashas has hailed the Vigilante group of Nigeria , Nasarawa State Chapter, who in collaboration with the Miyeti Allah Vigilantes rescued over 30 kidnap victims.

After the hoodlums were cleared from the forests by the Military and Police over a year ago, they suddenly resurged with terrific terrorism leading to deaths of some victims, extortion and collection of ransome from the families of victims.

A statement by the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Media & Communication to the Chairman, Toto Local Government Council, Yahaya Idris Toto, said that the rescue operation was carried out by the combined efforts of the Miyeti Allah Vigilante Group (VGN) Nasarawa state chapter and the local Vigilantes from Toto.Rescue kidnap victims and Mayeti-Allah hunters and VGN

The SSA disclosed that rescue groups were led by Mall. Akajo and Musa Jambo and have so far rescued 30 persons from the Kidnappers den located at a forest near Koton-karfe in Kogi local government area of Kogi state.

Idris also revealed that the rescue operation which is still ongoing has lasted for over 2 weeks now.

The SSA said the Council Chairman Hon Aliyu Abdullahi Tashas has restated the commitment of the state and local governments in the on going fight against kidnapping and banditry in the state.

The Council Chairman expressed gratitude to Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule for his sagacious commitment to the security of lives and properties of the citizens of the State.

The Senior Special Assistant quoted the Council Chairman, Tashas, as he commended the efforts of the Police and other security agencies operating in Toto Local Government Area, urging them to exert more force on the criminals.

According to the statement, the Council Chairman while commending the Vigilantes over the successes so far recorded in the fight against kidnapping and banditry, also urged residents to be vigilant and report suspicious persons and their movements to the nearest security agencies or their Traditional Rulers.

The Chairman who also addressed rescue victims reunite them with their family members at the Toto Local Government Council secretariat in presence of stakeholders, religion leaders and security chiefs.
