Why Prince Nuhu Will Not Contest Toto LG Chairmanship After One Term

Following agreement reached after the controversial All Progressive Congress ( APC) primary election that brought Prince Nuhu Dauda Adamu as the APC Chairmanship candidate for Toto local government, which he eventually won at LGC polls, it is now time to honour the sacrifices and commitment of the people of the local government.
It would be recalled that the Speaker Nasarawa state House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, while addressing the Toto LGA APC Congress said some stakeholders and party faithfuls agreed on a formula for political stability, justice and harmonious coexistence.
The Rt. Honourable Speaker stated unequivocally in a recorded video in the presence of hundreds of delegates, party leaders and supporters that a zoning formula has been adopted for the Chairmanship of Toto LGC.
He pleaded with the people to accept that the first shot of the arrangement to start from Umaisha district and after only one tenure to be followed by Gadabuke district and in the same vein Toto district takes its turn.
At the said Congress to pick Chairmanship Candidate where the historic pronouncement was made by the Speaker, Hon. Yusuf Omaki former Commissioner and Special Adviser, former Toto LGC Chairmen, top state government officials from Toto LGA were present .
Rt Hon. Balarabe reminded the people that since the inception of the current democratic dispensation, the elected and executive Chairmen had always come from Toto district, that is the reason for the rotation formula so as to correct perceived imbalance in the local government area.
What has now led to the breach of agreement or contempt of what the Speaker Nasarawa state house of Assembly described as path to justice and fair play to all segments of Toto LGA as the incumbent Chairman is said to sit tight using government and party machinery.
At the meeting which was attended by the few self acclaimed political stakeholders who have no mandates of the people, some of whom have lost political relevance and using the position of the Rt Hon. Speaker to claim leadership of the people, because he does not know them.
The people of Toto LGA are keenly watching and awaiting to see the suspicious plans of the so-called stakeholders whom it was gathered want to impose the outgoing Chairman, Prince Nuhu Dauda Adamu on the people, contrary to the Speaker’s stance.
We respect Balarabe, not only as a son of the soil, but as the Speaker of the House as such we don’t expect any hanky panky. He is a man of honour.
