Yoruba communities from the South West Nigeria resident in Kogi state have urged the President elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Vice Kashim Shetima to institute policies that will enable a new united Nigeria.

At a press conference on Monday held at the Oba of Yoruba palace at the Cantonment area of Lokoja, the Yoruba communities congratulated the President elect on his well deserved victory at the poll.

Led by the Oba Kogi state Yoruba communities, His Royal Highness Oba Alhaji Bello Audu Oke, expressed gratitude to Nigerians for finding their son worthy to steer the affairs of the nation.

While thanking Nigerians for the massive support and overwhelming victory during the February 25 election, the Communities said they have explicit confidence in Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Vice Kashim Shetima will never betray the trust and confidence reposed in them.

” We urge you (Senatur Bola Ahmed Tinubu) to bring to bear your vast human experience as you prepare to administer good governance to the people of Nigeria, just as you demonstrated in Lagos, turning it to epic centre of socio economic and commercial hub of the country.

” We have implicit confidence that you will adopt workable policies that will unite the multi ethnic tribes of the country, address insecurity challenges, unemployment, infrastructural deficit, boost agricultural activities and provide free Education at all levels”, the Communities demanded.

They also use the occasion to remind the president elect on his promise to resuscitate the dormant Ajaokuta Steel Company situated in Kogi state, hoping that if actualised will turn the country into an industrialized nation that will wipe out unemployment in the country.

Chief Adeniyi Bamidele Gabriel, spoke on behalf of the Oba of Yoruba communities, also hailed the state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, for his relentless efforts at securing lives and properties of the citizens.

Chief Gabriel stated the Yoruba communities in Kogi state are glad that the state under his eagle eye watch has witnessed tremendous development in human and infrastructure.
