Nigeria’s oldest World war veteran, Pa Adamu Aduku Is Dead

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has condoled the family of the Country’s oldest military survivor of the Second World War, Pa Adamu Aduku who passed away at the fulfilled age of 101 years.

The Governor in a tribute to the late Veteran stated that the late Pa Aduku who hailed from Abejukolo- Ife in Omala Local Government area of the State was a true patriot who sacrifice for the fatherland and was blessed by God to witness its blossoming.

Bello in his condolence message made available to Newsmen in Lokoja by his Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Muhammed noted that the late war veteran who was the last of his kind died a fulfilled man and remained a worthy ambassador of Kogi state.

The Governor noted with regards and appreciation of the spirit, passion, zest of the people of Kogi state in their numerous endeavors and life’s occupation as they often seek to stand out

He commended the Federal Government and the Nigeria military for recently honouring the late Aduku while he was still alive and not waiting till the time of his demise.

Governor Bello condoled with the family and loved ones of late Pa Aduku noting that his death should not be a mourning but rather a celebration of a life of sacrifice well lived.

He similarly condoled with the people of the state and particularly Omala Local Government area of Kogi state over the glorious exit of the worthy son of the land who brought his people and locality to limelight.

While he prayed for Pa Aduku’s eternal rest, Governor Bello prayed that the late Aduku, alongside those who have rendered services to the fatherland be forever remembered in the history of the country.
