Lafia North Lawmaker, Alkali Urged Youths to Shun vices, drum support for Nasarawa Governor’s second term bid.
Hon Mohammed Ibrahim Alkali, member representing Lafia North constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has challenged the youths of the state to play the game according to the rules as 2023 general election draw nearer.
This, he said was in the interest of peace and for the overall development of the state
Hon Alkali made call while playing host to National Youth Council of Nigeria, Lafia East Development Area today in his office.
He said that if youths played the game by the rules, it would ensure peaceful and successful 2023 general elections in the country as well as enhance development in the state.
The lawmaker, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, also urged the youths to shun violence, before, during and after the general election.
” I want to appreciate you for the visit and to assure you of my continued readiness to support you to succeed.
” I want to call on you not to allow any politician or selfish individual use you to forment trouble before, during and after the 2023 general election.
” So that we will continue to enjoy the relative peace in the state under the watch of His Excellency, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, ” he said.
He called on the youths in the area to join the crusade of championing harmonious living in the state for peace and development to thrive.
The Deputy Chief Whip of the House appreciated the youths for honoring him for his purposeful representation.
He assured of his continued determination to initiate good policies and programmes that would have direct bearing on the lives of the people of the constituency.
He called on them and other people of the state to support Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s administration to succeed beyond 2023.
Earlier, the Coordinator, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Lafia East, Mr Abimiku Dagana Solomon said that the visit was to identify with the lawmaker over his purposeful leadership in the House.
” This honour is for a job well done. You have performed and still doing well in the House,” the Chairman said.
They assured the lawmaker of their loyalty and support at all times.
It would be reported that during the visit, the youths presented an award to the lawmaker for sound and quality representation at the state legislature.
