The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kogi state on Thursday formally inaugurated the zonal and Local Government Areas Coordinators as part of preparation to host its Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who is expected in the state to mobilize electorate to vote en mass for all the candidates of the party.
Inaugurating the Coordinators at the Atiku/ Okowa Campaign office at the phase 2 Lokongoma Housing estate,Lokoja, the Director General of the support group, Sam Abenemi charged them to redouble their efforts to guarantee landslide victory for the party.
Chief Abenemi charged the Coordinators to evolve strategies to woo voters irrespective of their political affiliation since politics is a local affair.
He advise them to remain in their localities to mobilise voters for the PDP to vote all its candidates so as to move Nigeria forward to ensure that all the candidates of the party win their elections.
Abenemi further charged the coordinators to ensure that at least 150,000 voters are attracted to the party, pointing out that the group is determined to bring in one million votes to the party.
He disclosed that the Adamu Mahmoud Atta Support Group, which is reputed to be the only one with functional offices across the 21 Local Government Councils and three Zonal offices across kogi state, has donated 11 SIENA busses for the campaign to go down to the grassroots.
He assured the Coordinators of equal opportunities, urging them to be more committed to the task of galvanising votes for the party to win the election convincingly.
Chief Abenemi assure them of adequate Mobilisation of logistics and financial support to enable them to effectively undertake the task .
While commending the Promoter of the Support Group, Adamu Mahmoud Atta, for his commitment to Atiku/Okowa presidency, assure of the ability and capacity of the coordinators to return the PDP to power in 2023 elections.
In their separate remarks on behalf of the Coordinators,, Benson Alida, Atule Okoche and Olugbenga Olorunnipa described the group as novel and first of its kind to have functional presence in all the local Government Areas of kogi state.
Meanwhile, the Adamu Mahmud Atta support group has donated eleven SIENA busses to the PDP Presidential Campaign Council of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi state.
According to Adamu Mahmud Atta, the donated vehicles are meant to assist the campaign council reach out to the electorate to sensitize and mobilise them to vote massively for the PDP in the state.
Former Kogi state Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi who is the Director General, Presidential Campaign Council for Kogi state, who received the vehicles from the the support group, expressed confidence that the PDP is set to win the 2023 general election.
Architect Awoniyi, thanked the sponsor of the support group for his concern and commitment to the party, assured that the vehicles will be fully used for the purpose they are meant for.
He therefore appealed to the people of the state to ensure that they collect their Permanent Voters Cards, which he described as the greatest weapon for winning election.
