LG polls: Former Speaker Balarabe commends Gov Sule for conducting LG elections, praises peace restoration in Toto Local Govt

Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, Immediate Past Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, cast his ballot today, Saturday, in the Nasarawa State Local Government Area elections.

The former Speaker and current Chairman of the Governing Council, Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Yobe State, and Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Campaign Council for Toto LG, cast his vote around 11:15 a.m. at his Galadima B polling unit in Umaisha.

He expressed appreciation for Nasarawa State, NASIEC’s efficient distribution of election materials ahead of the polls.

Balarabe Abdullahi lauded the significant attendance and calm atmosphere displayed by the people of Toto LG before and during the process

Balarabe Abdullahi praised Governor Abdullahi Sule for conducting LG elections in the state, which he said would boost grassroots development, and thanked security agencies for ensuring a smooth process.

He urged those who emerge victorious to demonstrate magnanimity by embracing inclusivity and called on those who fall short to exhibit gracious sportsmanship, collaboratively driving rapid growth in the LG and state at large

He appealed to the state’s entire citizenry to extend full support to Governor Abdullahi Sule, enabling his success.

The First Class Traditional Ruler of the area, Ohimegye Opanda Umaisha Development Area, HRH Alhaji Usman Abdullahi, cast his vote at Galadima A polling unit around 10:50 a.m. and expressed happiness over the return of peace to the area, calling for its sustenance.

He pointed out that peace facilitates peaceful activities in the area, and encouraged his people, particularly the elite and politicians, to come together for the area’s peace and advancement.
The Monarch applauded the peaceful conduct exhibited by his people and urged them to continue championing the cause of peace and unity, essential for development to flourish.

Ohimegye Opanda praised Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission, NASIEC, for the timely distribution of electoral materials and urged those who will have the opportunity to participate this time around to prepare and fulfill their responsibilities.

The Permanent Secretary of Government House, Lafia, Alh. Umar Idris, who also participated in the exercise, expressed satisfaction with the process and urged his constituents to extend full support to Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration to ensure its success.
